The trip consists of traveling the river in a slow moving boat for approximately two hours.

This river is of utmost importance to the Guanacaste Region due to its benefits for the irrigation of the rice, sugar cane, melon and mango crops which are extremely important to the local economy.

In addition to the knowledge you will receive from our bilingual tour guide about the river our guide will also point out the many species which call this river home.

Once our trip down the river concludes, we will enjoy a delicious typical lunch prepared in a local restaurant. Here you will experience authentic Costa Rican food, also known as a “casado”. Since our bellies will be full, we will have more energy to explore some of the pottery and souvenir shops. You will be given the unique opportunity to see how the pottery you see in Costa Rica is made. A local potter will show and explain this historic craft.
